When this creature is put into the Battle Zone, choose a player. You may destroy one of their creatures. If so, choose a non-Evolution creature other than "Magical Dragon Babelginus" in that player's Graveyard, and put it into the Battle Zone.

im wondering if im able to choose this creature and destroy it
do i still get the " If so, choose a non-Evolution creature other than "Magical Dragon Babelginus" in that player's Graveyard, and put it into the Battle Zone." effect?
or do i have to destroy some other creature so that it remains in the battle zone and i can use its effect?

No, the effect goes through no matter what, since it's already been started. Anything close to an effect being interrupted would only happen if the creature was removed, before it got a chance to react to the removal, and there's not too many cases of that I don't think. Like, even if they summon Corile on your Mist, you still get to draw I think, so it goes pretty far. And remember the whole rule about 'do as much of the effect as you possibly can'.

Rin made a very good point. But yeah you can use Babel's effect on himself and then still do the rest. People do that a lot anyway. It's just like Rothus dude.
